Metallica have confirmed development and discussion regarding their Tenth Studio album is well underway, however, due to their involvement in the 3D musical “Metallica: Through the Never”, it is apparent the album’s release date will be pushed back.
Metallica have managed to keep a high profile for a band who hasn’t released a studio album in almost five years, still being one of the most popular metal live acts, and keeping the press entertained with talk. In terms of the style of the next album, drummer Lars Ulrich said that it would be more similar to their 2008 album, Death Magnetic. ”‘Death Magnetic’ is one motherf**ker of a record,” Ulrich said. “There aren’t many Metallica records that sound as good as ‘Death Magnetic’ four years after they were made. With a lot of the other records, there were questions: ‘Why did we do that?’ or ‘What was going on there?’ or ‘Why didn’t somebody say to turn the snare on?’ I don’t feel like that with ‘Death Magnetic’. What we’re doing now certainly sounds like a continuation.”
It is easy to get excited about these two new upcoming pieces of work form the band. Metallica have held their throne as the Gods of Metal amongst fans of metal till today, and hopefully their future will not disappoint.
